Apprentice Master expo #4: Patchy & Sketchy

As color is universal, the personal relationship with color is very unique to every person. In this exhibition four artists whose work deals considerably with color are united within the same space. Each of the artists have their own way of manipulating color to express our different feelings and statements. The concern of the artist is with the discrepancy between physical fact and psychological effect.

Jan Dirk de Wilde is the cofounder of Art-collective Knust-press. Knust is the pioneer of Risoprinting, the continuation of old stencil machine and other media.

Rob Smulders from Tilburg works by constantly looking for unconventional techniques to produce works whereby room arises for experiment. Abstract experimental works with an emphasis of the way paint shows itself on a surface, are the expression of this.

Marina Heuvelman is an artist based in the Hague. Uncovering the unknown and delving into unconscious desires is her incentive. Using physical impressions of color and shape, she explores ideas and feelings that are still ambiguous and escapes into her imagination.
Flexboj & L.A. are a Belgian artist duo work together in all media that can be seen as artistic. Painting, sculptures, installation,… but also use journalism, fashion, literature,… to express themselves. In that way art becomes a playful game like a child that’s having fun playing soccer with his friends.

De vierde expositie van het elfde seizoen van het Apprentice Master programma vangt aan op donderdag 7 maart 2019 in TAC, Eindhoven. Tijdens deze tentoonstelling exposeren apprentices Rob Smulders, Marina Heuvelman en Flexboj en L.A. samen met meester Jan Dirk de Wilde. De tentoonstelling zal plaatsvinden vanaf donderdag 7 maart tot en met zondag 31 maart 2019 bij TAC, Eindhoven. De opening vindt plaats op donderdag 7 maart van 20.00 tot 23.00. Tijdens de opening zullen de kunstenaars aanwezig zijn om een introductie te geven op hun werken. U bent van harte welkom om de opening bij te wonen of de tentoonstelling op de reguliere openingstijden van TAC te bezoeken!
