Apprentice Master expo #2: The I in formation

The I is always in formation, consists of information. The I is private and the I is formed in the public eye. It is rational, delusional, nostalgic, futuristic, ephemeral and grounded, timeless and gone in a flash at the same time – and from different angles. The artists in this exhibition are not bound by formal links like visual language, approach or attitude. They are all in their own way looking for the I in formation. Jacco Borggreve is looking at the future of the I, and what it might become if all the wiring works out, while Paul Nieboer looks at his environment through landscapes, friends and the memories that bind them as a force of formation. Tina Jeranko works with words, bodies and movement and combines the rational with the physical to find the I in between, and Jannes Bürkner works with materials shaped by seemingly organic processes of growth and decay, building collages from these materials. Paul Segers reflects on the I through fictional scenario’s in which his characters act and dwell in some version of the hyperreal. The I in formation.

The second exhibition of the eleventh season of the Apprentice Master program starts on Thursday 7 February 2019. During this exhibition, the apprentices Jacco Borggreve, Jannes Bürkner, Tina Jeranko and Paul Nieboer will be exhibiting together with master Paul Segers.
The exhibition shall take place from Thursday 7 February to Sunday 3 March 2019 at Kunstpodium T. The opening is happening on Thursday 7 Feb from 20.00 to 23.00. During the opening, the artists will be present to give an introduction on their work and the exhibition. You are welcome to attend the opening on 7 Feb or visit the exhibition during our regular opening hours!
