De Nieuwe Vincent is a program in which young people embark on a creative process. They step into a rollercoaster in which they are challenged to draw and paint. The participants work with new techniques that they do not yet know, are taken out of their comfort zone, are stimulated to discover, try out and step outside the well-known paths. In this way they grow and find out the things that they do and don’t excel in. They find out what inspires them, and what suits them. Maybe we can even say that they even discover a bit of who they are… Is there an artist or a painter inside them?

Together with like-minded people, they step into this process full enthusiasm. They visit studios, museums, an art academy, exhibition spaces. In every place they work (together), wonder, watch, make choices and try out new techniques. Working together with various artists is inspiring for both the new talents and the artists themselves.

De Nieuwe Vincent is organised by Vincents Tekenlokaal. This is one of the locations in Brabant that together draw attention to Vincent van Gogh’s years in Brabant and its influence on his further career. Vincent was thirteen years old when he came to Tilburg and took drawing lessons at the HBS Koning Willem II with the artist C. Huysmans.

De Nieuwe Vincent is realised in collaboration with several artists, Academie voor Beeldende VormingVan Gogh BrabantDe Pont museum and Kunstlab.
