Final exhibition De Nieuwe Vincent
16 December @ 2:30 pm - 23 December @ 5:30 pm
Note: private opening on 16 December.
De Nieuwe Vincent (the new Vincent van Gogh) is a program in which young people go through a creative process. They get into some sort of rollercoaster in which they are challenged to draw and paint. The participants work with new techniques with which they are not familiar yet, are being taken out of their comfort zone, are being stimulated to discover, to experiment and to take the road less traveled. This way they will grow and find out what they do and do not excel in. They are learning what inspires them and what suits them. Maybe we can even say that they discover who they actually are. Is there an artist or painter hiding in them?
Together with like-minded people, they are getting into this process full with enthusiasm. They visit studios, museums, an art academy and exhibition rooms. In every location they will work (together), wonder, look, make choices and try different techniques. The interaction with different artists and making new work together is inspiring both for the New Vincents as well as the artists themselves.
On the way, every New Vincent creates a portfolio which they can show to everybody in a full exhibition at the end of the program. A climax, in which the development to New Vincent can be seen. The final exhibition takes place at Kunstpodium T on Sunday 16 September. During this private opening of the exhibition, an independent jury will announce one of the participants as The New Vincent, who receives the Jan Naaijkens Junior prize from the Noord-Brabants Genootschap.
After the closed opening, the exhibition is on show until Sunday 23 December at Kunstpodium T.
